PROBLEM SOLVING
PERSONAL BRAND LOGO

PERSONAL BRAND LOGO DEVELOPMENT

I first began the development of my personal logo design by sketching the initials of my name on paper in the hopes that I would find a way to connect them together. However, I was unable to create an idea that I liked or that was unique so I decided to try and create my logo digitally.
I liked the idea of having a very simplistic logo that would be easy to replicate if needed and so I began looking through fonts online to see if I could find one that was unique and visually pleasing enough that it could be my logo without looking too plain.
After experimenting with fonts such as Futura, Courier, American Typewriter, I realised that the logo was far too plain and there was no way that I could make it interesting without adding another detail.
Because of this, I turned back to sketching on paper trying to think of what image I could use along with the words to make the logo more interesting. I considered images related to filmmaking such as a camera or a roll of film stock but I knew that these images were very common and overused which was something that I wanted to avoid.
I eventually decided to use a typewriter as the image on my logo as I use one myself and I thought it served as a nice reference to filmmaking of the past and how screenplays used to be written.

FUTURA BOLD
I chose this font as I wanted my initials to stand out.
COURIER NEW
I chose to use this font as it is often used in screenwriting which is one of my preferred areas in film.
COLOUR SCHEME
I used this basic colour scheme as it suits the vintage style that I was going for.
BRAND IDENTITY MOCKUPS
I decided to create some mockup designs using mediamodifier.com to help me understand how my logo would look in typical media advertisements and various social media profiles and channels.
This is a mockup of a sponsored post on Instagram which are often used to promote companies, music, and clothing.
This is an example of a sponsored story post on Instagram which will likely reach more people than the previous one as it will be seen when users scroll through the story posts of those that they follow.
I also added my logo as my profile picture on YouTube to grasp some idea of how it would look if I were to make it a public profile to broadcast my work.
